You know gig-type work is great because it’s flexible—but let’s be real, the options out there aren’t exactly inspiring.

​

That’s why we’re launching poppermint, one of Ottawa’s new up-and-coming startups, designed for students to offer their talents/skills as a side-hustle to make extra cash by doing what they love, on their own terms! ​

​

Whether you can sing, bake or snap amazing photos; whether you like car-detailing, shoveling driveways, coaching/tutoring kids, or anything in between, poppermint lets you promote your gig, communicate with customers, book jobs, collect reviews and get paid, all in one place!

We’re looking for students to be part of our test-group to help shape the future of poppermint !

Eligibility:

• Interested in offering one (or more) of your skills/talents as a paid side-hustle

• Currently enrolled as a student at Algonquin College, Carleton University, University of Ottawa or la Cité Collégiale*

• Minimum 18 yrs. old (as of May 1st, 2025)*

  * If you’re interested but you aren’t 18 yet, or you’re enrolled at another school, please add your email to our WAITLIST to find out when we’ll be launching at your school

 

What’s involved?

• Participate in a 30-minute virtual onboarding session (time TBD)

• Create a profile with the new Poppermint platform (coming soon!)

• Share your profile with friends/family/neighbours/etc

• Participate in short feedback sessions to discuss what works well, what could be better, what could be added, etc (times & dates TBD)
